About

Our Mission

St. Anthony FESTA ITALIANA Charlotte is an elegant festive annual fund raising event celebrating Italian Culture, Authentic Fine Italian Cuisine, Wine, Beer, Live Musical Entertainment, including Italian Opera, Art, a Kid Zone, and a Wonderful Silent Auction. This elegant Celebration of Fine Italian Cuisine attracts 500+ people every year now. The FESTA takes place outside in the beautiful Courtyards of Gateway Village in Uptown Charlotte.

FESTA ITALIANA Charlotte is presented each year by The St. ANTHONY FOUNDATION of CHARLOTTE, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-affiliated, non-religious organization that founded by Vincent E. Voci MD in 2006. The Foundation provides support for organizations who assist people with mental and physical challenges. Thus far the Organization has raised more than $134,000 for this charitable purpose.

About the St. Anthony Foundation

The St. Anthony Foundation of Charlotte is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization. The Foundation’s main fundraising event each year, St Anthony FESTA ITALIANA Charlotte, will very rapidly become the Best Italian Festival in the Southeast. The Foundation will further develop this event every year utilizing the help of contributions and more Sponsors, Individuals, Italian Restaurants, Vendors, Entertainers, Retailers, and Wholesalers donating money, food, wine, beer, services, products, and musical talent that they are most proud of. Of course, the Foundation also wants the Media to join and play a very big role in the festivities to help raise money for Nevins Center, helping create opportunities for those with special needs, by promoting St Anthony FESTA ITALIANA Charlotte for many years to come.

Our St. Anthony FESTA ITALIANA Charlotte has also been recognized as a worthy sister event by theFeast of all Feasts in Boston, MA, the St Anthony Feast celebrating its 92nd year in the Italian Northend. That huge charity Italian Festival in Boston’s Italian North End is the inspiration for our FESTA ITALIANA in Charlotte, through Dr. Voci’s Parents, Gene and Elizabeth, and Uncle and Aunt, Arthur and Pat Puopolo.

About the Chairman

Vincent E. Voci MD a plastic surgeon in Charlotte, led a small private pilot St. Anthony Italian Festival in Charlotte in June of 2006 with about 125 friends and family attending at Camden Grandview, Uptown. They enjoyed entertainment, food and wine from 12 Italian & Mediterranean local restaurants and his Uncle Artie from Boston to raise money for charity. Dr. Voci chose Nevin’s Center for the Disabled to benefit from the event. The event resulted a big hit and motivated Dr.Voci in the creation of the St. Anthony Foundation with a committee of 25 people interested in growing the event for the future to raise money for local charities.
